> 2008 Waterski and Wakeboard Ball
Posted by John Lalor - 04-16-08 08:44 - 0 comments
Well it is time to dust off those dancing shoes and get dressed up for the one and only formal event on the waterski calendar.

This year the Victorian clubs have joined forces to revamp the Waterski & Wakeboard Ball which is being held much earlier this year.
The theme for the evening is Black Tie 1920's Gangsters & Dames, so get out those fedoras and fishnets, flapper dresses, guns and garters and get down to the speakeasy for some bootleg moonshine!

Don't worry, we've gotten around the prohibition, so for the bargain price of $75 you'll get unlimited beer, wine, champagne and basic spirits, a sit down meal, music and entertainment, games, prizes and all that jazz!

The details:
When: Saturday 10th May 2008, 8pm-12:30am
Where: Moonlight Receptions, 622 Nicholson st, North Fitzroy, 3068
Cost: $75 (includes fingerfood on arrival plus sit down meal; unlimited beer, wine, champagne and basic spirits; entertainment; and entry to the afterparty)
Dress Code: 1920's (black tie) gangsters and dames

An evening full of surprises with heaps of prizes to be won and awards for the best dressed male and female!!

> 2008 Moomba Maniacal Duck Tour
Posted by John Lalor - 02-19-08 06:09 - 12 comments
This weekend! The Moomba Maniacal Duck Tour is on again for another year. For those swept up in the hype - it's a chance to get down to the banks of the Yarra and cheer for the elite in a sport that we enjoy so much. The world's best skiiers enjoy the support - and all of them know about "The Ducks". So if you can, get down the banks, and hopefully it'll be support in numbers - in Bright Orange!!

We normally sit on the Alexandra Gardens side of the river - right opposite the jump ramp - in a great spot to see all of the carnage.

It's also going to be fantastic weather all weekend, so there's no excuse to make the most of it and get out in the sunshine while it lasts!

The social program has been finalised, and we're in for a big one. If only half of the people rock up to the pub crawl that have told me they're coming - it's going to be a HUGE night!!

Friday Night - The Famous Duck Tour Pub Crawl:
This year through careful negotiations, we have secured a spot in the 'enclosure' as the first pub - so come enjoy a beer while watching the Night Jump on Friday night. We will then head towards the city on a night to be remembered!

Here's the plan for the pub crawl:
6:00pm - 7:30pm
- Night Jump (Officials Side - in the VWSA enclosure)
7:30pm - 9:00pm
- Riverland (Just up the river next to Fed Square)
9:00pm - 10:30pm
- Phoenix Bar (82 Flinders St - near cnr Exhibition St)
- (Most likely upstairs - so if you can't find us - go upstairs!)
10:30pm - onwards
- Icon Bar (125 Flinders Lane)
- (Tell them you're with the "Duck Tour" for free entry).

Saturday Night - Duck Party:
We're off to the Elephant and Wheelbarrow (Corner Bourke St and Exhibition St - City). Get there early for a feed, or later to be the best singers and dancers in the world with band Krunch rocking out until the early hours.

Sunday Night - Parma Night - Swan Hotel:
The Swan is being renovated - but never fear, on Sunday they have 4 bands, and still have a massive area. Kitchen is open until 9pm so get in early if you want a feed, or later if you want to just enjoy the fun!

Monday Night - Afterparty:
We'll work out where the skiers go - and crash the party!!

T-Shirts
T-shirts are still available, although some smaller sizes have sold out. They will be available on the pub crawl tomorrow night and throughout the weekend until sold out.

Otherwise, it's going to be a great weekend. If you have any questions over the weekend, give me a call on 0417 037 673.
